The Target Holiday 2010 Campaign from Weiden + Kennedy is awesome on so many levels. The target marketing (pun intended) is spot on. The imagery is fun, current, and plays with holiday universal themes in non-cliche way, which, by the way is apparently is hard to do judging from the competition out there. The editing is top-notch (I especially like the rewind in the Best Morning Ever spot). But most impressive is the music — "an original score of modern Christmas-themed songs" by a nice array of artist's like Blackalicious, Crystal Antlers, and Bishop Allen. You can't buy the music on itunes, but you can download the entire holiday album for free on target's website. So smart.

HEGA & Ian Coyle

While shopping online for a jacket, I discovered the new NIke Snowboarding website designed by HEGA & Ian Coyle in Portland. The site is so clean and intuitive. Features like filtering, keyboard navigation, and enhanced search run smoothly and look really great. Now I just need to justify buying the boots and hat that go so well with the jacket I really like.

AATOAA created m4a files with what they call "synchronised artwork" for The SuburbsArcade Fire's newly released album. When you purchase a digital download, CD, or double 12″ vinyl from the band's website you'll also receive visuals related to each song, lyrics, and contextual hyperlinks (which the band will change and update occasionally). More like an interactive music experience as opposed to the usual digital booklet of jpegs (which you get instead, when you purchase The Suburbs through itunes).

To create buzz for the Nike Free Run+ shoe, W+K created the Nike Music Shoe, a functioning musical instrument that creates sound when bent. I love these shoes, I love Nike+, and this video is absolutely amazing!
